Floods Damage More Than Half of Texas State Park System
(May 28, 2015 - Austin, TX) Torrential storms that have continued to hammer much of the state for more than a week now are leaving their mark on Texas’ State Park system. As of Wednesday, more than 50 state parks report some damage as a result of significant rainfall; about half those sites are currently either closed or partially closed to the public due to flooding.


(May 28, 2015 - DAYTON, TN.) The fifth tournament of the 20th anniversary season of the Walmart FLW Tour, the most competitive Tour in professional bass-fishing, kicks off June 11-14 with the Walmart FLW Tour at Lake Chickamauga presented by Igloo Coolers. Hosted by the Rhea Economic and Tourism Council, the tournament will feature 151 of the world’s best bass-fishing professionals and co-anglers casting for top awards of up to $125,000 cash in the pro division and up to $25,000 cash in the co-angler division.


(May 27, 2015 - Birmingham, AL) The Carhartt Bassmaster College Series presented by Bass Pro Shops heads this week to La Crosse, Wis., for its Midwestern Regional bass tournament to be held Thursday through Saturday on the Mississippi River.

(May 27, 2015 - Minneapolis, MN) The 2015 Walmart Bass Fishing League season will continue with four tournaments on Saturday, June 6. The Bama division will take on Lay Lake, the Mountain division heads to Barren River, the North Carolina division competes on High Rock Lake, and the Okie division stops at Fort Gibson Lake.

(May 27, 2015 - HENRICO, VA.) The Rayovac FLW Series is headed to James River June 4-6 for a tournament presented by Mercury when as many as 300 pros and co-anglers will take to the water for the first stop of 2015 in the Northern Division.

New Dan A. Hughes Unit honors namesake’s role in key acquisition.
(May 21, 2015 - Austin, TX) The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission Thursday authorized the renaming of the Big Satan Unit of the Devils River State Natural Area. The new Dan A. Hughes Unit honors the role of its namesake in helping the state acquire this unique property. Hughes, father of TPW Commission chairman Dan A. Hughes Jr., is a well-known South Texas oil and gas businessman, outdoors enthusiast and conservationist.

The Launch Event must be rescheduled for the Cherokee Neches Paddling Trail that was for May 30 – there is just too much water for it to be a safe paddle. 

(May 20, 2015 - HARTWELL, GA.) FLW College Fishing is headed to Lake Hartwell May 30 for the third and final regular-season stop in the Southeastern Conference. A full field of college teams will be competing for a top award of $2,000 and a berth in the Southeastern Conference Championship tournament.


(May 20, 2015 - GILBERTSVILLE, Ky.) The Muhlenberg County team of Billy Hardison and Nathan Fleener brought a 2-day cumulative total of 10 bass weighing 33 lbs, 11 oz to the scale, beating out 54 other teams to win the 2015 Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) Fishing Championship on Kentucky Lake. The win earned the team medals, a trophy to display in their school and the title of KHSAA state champions.


2015 Toyota Texas Bass Classic at Lake Fork is accepting volunteer applications
(May 20, 2015 - Quitman, TX) The Toyota Texas Bass Classic (TTBC) is looking for volunteers to help support the Texas-sized outdoor music festival and world championship fishing event. The 9th annual TTBC is returning to Lake Fork Memorial Day Weekend, May 23-25, 2015. The event will host the world’s greatest anglers as well as chart topping country music performances.

(May 20, 2015 - Minneapolis, MN) The 2015 Walmart Bass Fishing League season will continue with six tournaments on Saturday, May 30. The Bulldog division will take on Lake Eufaula, the Cowboy division heads to Sam Rayburn Reservoir, the Great Lakes division stops at the Mississippi River, the Hoosier division competes on Lake Patoka, the Mississippi division tackles Ross Barnett Reservoir, and the Volunteer division will stop at Cherokee Lake.


(May 19, 2015 - Paris Landing, TN) Literally fishing in their home waters, the local team of Jeffery Archie and Zach Parker, of Paris, were the winners of the 21st Annual Governors Bass Tournament, held Saturday, at rainy Kentucky Lake. The fishermen launched their boats at Paris Landing State Park and dealt with rain much of the day.

(May 19, 2015 - MCCORMICK, S.C.) Brian Tidwell of Seneca, South Carolina, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 17 pounds, 11 ounces Saturday to win the fourth Walmart Bass Fishing League South Carolina Division tournament of 2015 on Clarks Hill Lake. For his victory, Tidwell earned $3,021.


(May 19, 2015 - Lake Houston, TX) High waters on Lake Houston, but some still caught fish! There were 59 total fish brought to the scales. 8 Limits, a total of 121.99 lbs. that made only a 2.06 lb. average weight per fish.


Binkley wins co-angler title
(May 19, 2015 - GUNTERSVILLE, AL.) Tim Wilson of Gas City, Indiana, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 29 pounds, 10 ounces Saturday to win the fourth Walmart Bass Fishing League Choo Choo Division tournament of 2015 on Lake Guntersville. For his victory, Wilson earned $5,584.


Wright wins co-angler title
(May 19, 2015 - MARBURY, MD.) Mike Roselle of La Plata, Maryland, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 16 pounds, 13 ounces Saturday to win the third Walmart Bass Fishing League Shenandoah Division tournament of 2015 on Potomac River. For his victory, Roselle earned $6,235.


Yocum wins co-angler title
(May 18, 2015 - Celina,OH) Gary Ginter of Maplewood, Ohio, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 13 pounds, 4 ounces Saturday to win the first Walmart Bass Fishing League Buckeye Division tournament of 2015 on Grand Lake. For his victory, Ginter earned $3,963.


Rogers wins co-angler title
(May 18, 2015 - GROVE, OK.) Mitch Meredith of Hulbert, Oklahoma, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 18 pounds, 4 ounces Saturday to win the third Walmart Bass Fishing League Okie Division tournament of 2015 on Grand Lake. For his victory, Meredith earned $7,165.


Helton wins co-angler title
(May 18, 2015 - MONTICELLO, KY.) Dwight Fox of Gainesboro, Tennessee, weighed four bass totaling 16 pounds, 2 ounces Saturday to win the third Walmart Bass Fishing League Mountain Division tournament of 2015 on Lake Cumberland. For his victory, Fox earned $4,463.

(May 17, 2015 - EUFAULA, AL.) The Walmart FLW Tour event at Lake Eufaula presented by Quaker State promised a dramatic finish Sunday as all of the final top-10 anglers competing on the final day were within striking distance of first place and the title of Lake Eufaula Champion.

2010 BFL All-American Champion Hopes To Fend Off Hard-Charging Bryan Thrift
(May 16, 2015 - EUFAULA, Al.) Pro Troy Morrow of Eastanollee, Georgia, caught a five-bass limit Saturday weighing 15 pounds, 4 ounce to retain the lead on day three of the Walmart FLW Tour at Lake Eufaula presented by Quaker State. Morrow’s three-day total of 15 bass weighing 54 pounds, 13 ounces gives him a slim 4-ounce lead over second-place pro Bryan Thrift of Shelby, North Carolina, heading into the fourth and final day of competition.


Texas’ Honeycutt Wins Co-Angler Title, $25,000  
(May 15, 2015 - EUFAULA, AL.) Pro Troy Morrow of Eastanollee, Georgia, caught five bass weighing 18 pounds, 1 ounce Friday to take control of the leaderboard after day two of the Walmart FLW Tour at Lake Eufaula presented by Quaker State. Morrow’s two-day total of 10 bass weighing 39 pounds, 9 ounces gives him a 1-pound, 4-ounce advantage.


Texan Honeycutt Leads Co-Anglers
(May 14, 2015 - EUFAULA, AL) Pro Clent Davis of Montevallo, Alabama, caught five bass weighing 22 pounds, 9 ounces Thursday to grab the lead on day one of the Walmart FLW Tour at Lake Eufaula presented by Quaker State. Just 1 pound, 1 ounce separates the leader from second-place pro Troy Morrow of Eastanollee, Georgia, who caught five bass weighing 21-8 in the nationally televised tournament.

(May 12, 2015 - SPARTA, TN.) Dwight Fox of Gainesboro, Tennessee, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 16 pounds, 14 ounces Saturday to win the second Walmart Bass Fishing League Music City Division tournament of 2015 on Center Hill Lake. For his victory, Fox earned $2,741.

(May 11, 2015 - Brookeland, TX) Albert Collins of Nacogdoches, Texas, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 22 pounds, 2 ounces Saturday to win the third Walmart Bass Fishing League Cowboy Division tournament of 2015 on Sam Rayburn Reservoir. For his victory, Collins earned $5,271.


Schultz wins co-angler title
(May 11, 2015 - LA CROSSE, WI.) Travis Brueggen of Cashton, Wisconsin, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 15 pounds, 11 ounces Saturday to win the first Walmart Bass Fishing League Great Lakes Division tournament of 2015 on the Mississippi River at La Crosse. For his victory, Brueggen earned $4,695.

The Liberty University team of Ryan Suhy, Forrest, Virginia, and Shane Fetty, Newport News, Virginia, won the FLW College Fishing Northern Conference event on Smith Mountain Lake Saturday with five bass weighing 14 pounds, 3 ounces. The victory earned the club $2,000 and advanced the team to the FLW College Fishing Northern Conference Championship tournament.


(May 11, 2015 - Mt. Home, AR) Pro-angler Bill Sutton, of Lindenhurst, Illinois, brought in a two-day total of 46.58 pounds of walleye to win the pro-angler category of the Mississippi River event for the Cabela's National Walleye Tour (NWT) at Lake City, Minnesota, on May 8.

The Humboldt State University team of Tristan Merlaud of Sebastopol, California, and Rudy Directo of Alpine, California, won the FLW College Fishing Western Conference event on the California Delta Saturday with five bass weighing 22 pounds, 4 ounces. The victory earned the club $2,000 and advanced the team to the FLW College Fishing Western Conference Championship tournament.
