[quote="Lynn Atkinson"] Reel um N Guide Service Owner Lynn Atkinson Water Temp.76 Normal pool 164.40 Water Clarity 2 feet 05-03-12 ?Big Sam? is almost back to Full Pool at 164.24. Boy, we are glad to have the water. It feels funny to be running and see the tops of bean brushes go by. The lake looks good with lots of cover for the fish to hide in. There are bean brushes everywhere. You will also find small willow trees in 6 to 8 ft of water; you can just see the tops; of off points and drains. The pads are just starting to thicken up and things are looking good for the summer bite The top water bite on ?Big Sam? can be Awesome and things are looking good with all the new water. The water is stained in the pockets and creeks but is clearing as things start to settle down. Make sure you get some new line on the reels as fighting these fish around all the cover will be tough on everything. Get ready for the challenge of casting around things and into the holes in the cover. The Stanley Ribbit will be on my list of top water baits to get around all this stuff and haul out the fish. In the more open areas the Pop-Rs, Hunchbacks and Buzz Baits will see their share of fish. Don?t forget about the Stanley Spinner Baits out on the edges as they can cover a lot of water. The Crankbait?s will see their share of fish off the long points and creek channels so get to reeling. The deeper areas will be holding some nice fish in 16 to 20 foot of water and the old Carolina and Texas rig. Look for ledges and long main lake points to hold some good fish. A few fish will move out to the humps offshore and hang out for the summer. Crappie; The Crappie have started to settle down and things are starting to look up. Our last group caught the most crappie last year and won a free trip. These guys can fish and they filled a cooler full of Crappie. This is something we start last year. The group that catches the most legal, keeper size, Crappie wins a free trip the next year. Don?t wait too long to get your trip booked. The new pontoon has plenty of room for everyone with lots of shade and a Pot-O-Potty for them times in need.
