Pam Rodden Wins First Place And Big Bass At the First Annual Liz Meisell Memorial Tournament At Lake Athens

(Aug. 27, 2009 - Athens, TX)... Our August 15 night tournament was held in memory of Liz Meisell who passed away earlier this year. Athens was her favorite lake so it only seemed appropriate that our First Annual Liz Meisell Memorial Tournament be held on this lake. Her husband, Rodney generously donated an additional $500 in prize money to be added to our usual tournament payout. Many thanks to Rodney and his family for this wonderful memorial to Liz.

Athens is one of our favorite lakes and the tournament proved to be a successful one for most. The weather even cooperated and it made for a nice night of fishing.

Pam Rodden won First Place and Big Bass with a 5 fish total weight of 15.76 lbs. Her big bass weighed in at 6.6 lbs.

Second Place was won by Norma Ussery who caught a limit and was able to cull fish. Her total weight was 12.17 lbs.

Dawn March finished in Third Place with a total weight of 11.49 lbs.

Barbara Arrington Fifth Place 8.56 lbs.

Cindy Strong Sixth Place 7.56 lbs.

Cheryl Bowden Seventh Place 7.51 lbs.

Patti Verver Eighth Place 6.96 lbs.

Traci Smith Ninth Place 3.54 lbs.

Inge Kirby fished but was unable to get a keeper.

Robert Meisell, Liz’s son and his wife were at the weigh-in and presented the checks to the winners.
