Christmas Party And End Of Year Awards

(Jan. 08, 2009 - Dallas, TX)... Our annual Christmas party was held at Tom and Judy Muse’s beautifully decorated home in Terrell early in December. Everyone attending brought a covered dish and a gift for the Chinese gift exchange. As usual, a great time was had by all. We all ate too much but everything was so delicious it was hard to decide when to stop. There was much laughter and joking as we fought over the gifts during the game.

Year End Awards

A portion of the party always includes the end of year awards for members who finished the year with the most points earned while fishing the tournaments.

Those receiving awards were:

Norma Ussery First Place and Angler of the Year

Jan Bruner Big Bass and Heavy Stringer

Liz Meisell Second Place

Judy Muse Third Place

Barbara Arrington Fourth Place

Traci Smith Rookie of the Year

Replacing the plaques that we have awarded in years past were fishing shirts embroidered with the receipient’s name and standing for the year.

Tournament Committee Chosen

A tournament committee was chosen by our Tournament Director, Barbara Arrington. A list of lakes was selected by the committee and will be voted on during our January meeting. If approved, those will be the lakes we will be fishing during our 2009 season.

Rainbow Room Gifts

Everyone brought their Christmas donations for the Rainbow Room to the party. As usual the ladies went all out providing all kinds of items for the children. Judy Muse and Norma Ussery delivered the donations to the Child Protective Services office the following week. The items were well received as always.
