(Nov. 27, 2008 - Lake Fork, TX)... After an extremely hard day of fishing for everyone, Judith Hart was able to bring in the winning catch with five fish and a total weight of 5.94 lbs. Judith caught her fish in shallow water with a copper colored crankbait.

Pam Rodden came in at second place and also had the Big Bass of the day that weighed in at 2.22 lbs. She caught her fish on a white spinnerbait and green pumpkin grub with split tail. Her total weight was 3.98 lbs.

Norma Ussery was third with one fish that weighed 1.21 lbs. Her fish was caught on a green pumpkin watermelon sinko fished on a weighted hook. Barbara Arrington came in fourth with one fishing weighing 1.15 lbs.

Others fishing were: Anne Carothers, Patty Verver, Liz Meisell, and Judy Muse.

Originally scheduled for Saturday, November 15, once we arrived at the ramp before daylight it was determined that we would not be able to safely fish due to winds gusting to 40 mph. The Saturday tournament was cancelled and those present voted to fish on Sunday since the winds were to be much lower. Since the nighttime temperatures were also much lower we decided to delay the start until 8:00 a.m. This was our last tournament of the year and we wanted to be able to make the most of it. Unfortunately, due to the cold front, the fish refused to cooperate and we were lucky to have brought any fish in.

On Saturday, one member who will remain anonymous decided that she JUST HAD to fish somewhere and picked a cove where the wind wasn’t blowing. Not knowing that there had been recent rains in the area, her husband got their vehicle a little too close to the water. After calling another member for help, attempts at pulling them out, almost getting the rescue team stuck (and in the process spraying mud ALL OVER one of them), a wrecker was called and finally they were on the road again.

That wasn’t the only incident for the day. Another member had a flat tire on her trailer and her husband had to rescue her with another tire.

All in a day’s fishing. . . . . or not.
