(Jun. 10, 2009 - Lake Sam Rayburn TX)... C.A.S.T. Southeast started their sixth and final regional tournament of the season on June 6th, 2009 on beautiful Lake Sam Rayburn out of Jackson Hill Marina. Terry and Connie Sympson with their great staff greeted C.A.S.T. Southeast anglers for morning coffee and dock talk. C.A.S.T. Southeast utilized Jackson Hills lodge style marina for registration.

Thirty three teams left Jackson Hill Marina and were greeted with blue bird skies and with temperatures getting up into the 90’s. C.A.S.T. anglers had patterns from targeting inside grass lines, outside grass lines, flipping bushes, Carolina rigging on deep humps and brushpiles.

Many of our C.A.S.T. anglers utilized their Just Keepers weigh in bag from Duncanbags to bring their hefty fish to the scales.

Johnny and Jolyne George were able to find the winning fish by traveling down on the south end of the lake to start putting together a five fish limit that weighed in at 15.55 pounds. Johnny and Jolyne George were able to use dead ringers with red bloodline on a texas rig to catch their fish. They targeted outside grass lines on ridge tops in 8ft to 14ft. of water. Congratulations to this great team on their WIN!

Second place team of Paul and Lori Cobb who are currently in fifth place working towards the Anglers of the Year Title brought five healthy fish to the scales that had a total weight of 12.93 pounds. Paul and Lori ran their bass rig up mid lake near Black Forest to catch their fish. Paul and Lori utilized buzz baits early and then backed out to 8ft. to 16ft. using carolina rigged craws to catch their limit. Congratulations to this great team on their second place finish.

Third place team of Les Brown and Peggy Schaffner has had a great season with C.A.S.T. Southeast. Les and Peggy brought a five fish limit to the scales weighing in at 12.43 pounds. Les and Peggy had to utilize a "junk fishing" technique to catch their fish around mid lake. They targeted depths from 5ft. to 12ft. Congratulations to this team on their third place finish.

Dawson Marina Big Bass honors goes to the team of Clint and Jenny Lipham who found a beautiful bass that weighed 5.44 pounds. Clint and Jenny were utilizing a trick worm fished on a carolina rig off of points to catch their BIG BASS. Congratulations to this team on their BIG BASS catch.
