(May. 05, 2009 - Toledo Bend Res., TX)... C.A.S.T. Southeast started their fifth tournament of the season on May 2nd, 2009 on beautiful Toledo Bend Reservoir out of Pendleton Harbor Marina at the Pendleton Bridge on the Texas side. Bill Kirkley and his dog "LADY" greeted C.A.S.T. Southeast members with open doors and great lodging. C.A.S.T. Southeast utilized Pendleton Harbor’s storefront for registration which allowed anglers to stay dry before takeoff. After the tournament C.A.S.T. Southeast members gathered together to enjoy a cookout and enjoy fellowship among members and friends.

Thirty three teams left Pendleton Harbor Marina and were greeted with overcast skies and potential rain. C.A.S.T. anglers had patterns from bed fishing, targeting inside grass lines, outside grass lines, flipping bushes and even Carolina rigging on deep humps.

Many of our C.A.S.T. anglers utilized their Just Keepers weigh in bag from Duncan Bags to bring their hefty fish to the scales.

Buddy and Gay Day, no strangers to finding the winning fish, traveled down south as far as they could go to start putting together a five fish limit that weighed in at 17.29 pounds. Buddy and Gay had a real early limit that they caught shallow using spinnerbaits. After putting together a quick limit Buddy and Gay backed out to deeper water in the 17ft. range and was using a Carolina Rig technique rigged with flukes to cull some bigger fish. Congratulations to this excellent couples team on their WIN!

Second place team of Larry and Carol McMinimy who are currently in the running for the Anglers of the Year Title brought four healthy fish to the scales that had a total weight of 13.32 pounds. Larry and Carol ran their bass rig up North of the Pendleton Harbor Marina to catch their fish. Larry and Carol targeted shallow water lily pads all day utilizing frog baits to catch their four fish. Congratulations to this duo on their finish.

Third place team of John and Liz Lewis brought a five fish limit of bass to the scales that had a total weight of 12.88 pounds. John and Liz ran their bass boat to mid lake areas to catch their fish. John and Liz utilized a split shot leader and a fluke to catch their fish. John and Liz also credited Kick N Bass scent attractant to help the fish hold on longer. Congratulations to this team on their third place finish.

Dawson Marina Big Bass honors goes to the team of Larry and Carol McMinimy who found a spawned out female that weighed a total weight of 7.10 pounds. Larry and Carol said she was caught in shallow water as well just like their other 3 fish. Congratulations to this team on their BIG BASS catch.
