With over 104 CAST members fishing this event Jeremy and Crystal’s nice stringer weighing 15.73 lbs. led the way through a bass filled field of couples in our third regional event of 2008. Fishing solo at Bob Sandlin, Bill Gammons caught 15.27 lbs. to finish in second place. Bill fished a shaky head worm on the back side of grass beds near bulkhead retaining walls to catch his fish. Bills bag of bass were solid three pound average fish; an impressive stringer at any event. Third Place at Bob Sandlin went to the Mother and Son team of Jared and Barbie Taylor. Barbie caught the anchor fish for their five fish limit with a really nice 5.54 lbs. fish, also taking big bass honors for the tournament. Barbie is fast becoming a good bass angler. There was a major shake-up in the Northeast Region TOP SIX standings as a result of the Bob Sandlin tournament. The couples currently eligible to represent the Northeast Region in the 2008 CAST TOP SIX Invitational Tournament are: Jeremy Grandstaff and Crystal Anderson, Jared & Barbie Taylor, Steve & Trudy Smith, Allen & Robin Little, Rayford & Diane Richman, and Butch & Cindy Scheppler. Eligible alternates are: Jeff & Judy Baugus, Terry & Bonnie Johnson, Davis & Diane Burden, and Steve & Debbie Heck. Good Luck to everyone, keep movin’ up! Our next tournament will be at Lake Fork on May 25, 2008. Plano Marine will be hosting a small cook-out for all the CAST members attending this tournament. Benny Ray and the staff at Plano Marine have really put their best foot forward in making CAST an integral part of their preferred customer list. The cook-out and registration will be at Lakeview Lodge on FM 2946 starting at 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 24th. I expect us to call boat numbers by 6:00 am Sunday morning. We will be conducting weigh-in at the Lakeview Lodge pavillion and picnic area.
