First Place father and son team of Jody and Jake Goodrum won the heavy weight battle held out of April Plaza Marina on Saturday, March 15th. The weigh in was totally unbelievable. Jody and Jake’s limit of fish weighed 30.59 lbs, which included the Big Bass of the tournament, a 10.66. Their day started by sight fishing with tubes and craws, produced by Kicker Fish Bait Company. After putting 20 lbs of bass in the live well and not much time left, the team went to flippin. That’s when Jake set the hook and said hello 30 lbs! Their awesome bag of fish earned them $4,300, plus they claimed the 1st Place Ranger Cup Award for $2,500 and, also, the TIREMAX bonus of another $1,000 dollars for purchasing their new tires from TIREMAX. This brought their total payday to $7,800. Our 2nd Place spot went to Ronnie Wagner, who represented his team and fished alone at this event. He weighed in 5 fish weighing 29.31 lbs. His first 3 fish he caught sight fishing. After that, he went to flippin and crankin in 3 to 7 foot of water. He culled his limit three times. He caught his fish with Berkley gulp baits. His pay for a good day of fishing was $2,000. The team of Mark Mohler, Jr and Joe Bruno, Jr claimed our 3rd place spot. They had 5 fish weighing 28.98 lbs. They were sight fishing with craw worms in 5 ft or deeper of water. Top Teams:
