(Jan. 28, 2008 - April Plaza Marina/Lake Conroe, TX)... The 2008 season kick off tournament started in high gear for the Conroe Series with a limit of fish weighing over 31 lbs, claiming the 1st Place position. It took nearly 18 lbs to get a check, paying out 10 places, along with Big Bass and the Top 3 highest finishers for the Ranger Cup Award. There were many new faces showing up to compete with Ranger Boats being the new title sponsor for the Bass N Bucks Tournament Trail. The Ranger boats and clothing were quite impressive at this event. Bob Brown with American Rodsmiths provided product to some of the anglers who finished in the top spots, along with Howard Etue, owner of E2Baits, who provided handouts for all of the anglers in the tournament.

Matt Ogrodowicz, our 1st place winner brought in 31.76 lbs, which included the Big Bass of the event, a 9.84. Matt, also, claimed the 1st place highest finisher for the Ranger Cup Bonus, bringing his total payday to $6,800.00. He caught his limit on crankbaits and jigs in 12’ to 14’ of water. Matt stated, he had his limit in the boat by 1:00 p.m. He would like to give a special "Thanks"to his sponsors, Geneva Enterprises and Castaway Rods.

Our 2nd Place team, Jake & Jody Goodrum weighed in their 5 fish limit at 25.86 lbs. They were fishing in 10’ of water with grass using Carolina rigs. Jake stated they had their limit by 10:00 a.m. The 2nd place finish earned them $2,000.

The team of Tom Nolan and John Ohlenburg claimed our 3rd place spot. They had 5 fish weighing 25.38 lbs. They were fishing with Carolina rigged plastics in 6 to 12 ft of water. Fishing in the grass earned them a pay check for $1,500.00.

Top Teams:
1st $4,000 + $300 Big Bass Matt Ogrodowicz
2nd $2,000 Jake & Jody Goodrum
3rd $1,500 Tom Nolan & John Ohlenburg
