(Sep. 17, 2009 - Lake Chicot, Lake Village, AR)... The sixth and year ending tournament for Arkansas’s Couples opened with a rain with temperatures in the low 80’s. The 22 couples caught 64 fish weighing 152.88 lbs with 7/5 fish limits.

Michael and Tonya Johnson used spinner baits to weigh 5 bass at 15.14 lbs to win the tournament. They also had lunker at 5.88 this earned them a total of $1000.

Second were Kevin and Kerry Short who used shad pattern Strike King Hc1s crank baits and EWC crank baits to weigh 14.88 and earn $475.

Third were Cliff and Kathy Crowder. They used a chartreuse and white Buzz Bait earn them $350 for their 13.25.

Fourth were Will and Roberta Cranston with 11.53 for $250 and also taking the Angler’s of the year title for a fourth year in a row. They edged out Aubrey Johnson and Joan Craig by only .63.

The next Arkansas Couples tournament will be the end of the year championship October 10-11 at Table Rock Lake, Kimberly City Mo.
