The air temp at take-off was 72 degrees with a warming to 92 degrees at weigh in time. The water was at approximately 1 1/2 ft below normal pool level with water temps ranning 70-75 degrees in the main lake. The catching was pretty good on Big Sam today as 14 limits were brought to the scales for a total of 71 bass at 188.91 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.66 lb.

The Al’s Performance Marine tuned Bullitt/Mercury Team of Tommy Hill & Mike Griffin from Kountze, Tx flipped jigs & craws in grass clumps all over the mid lake area and gathered up their 5 bass that tipped the scales at 20.71 lbs to finish in 1st place and collect $1750.00 and the A/Q Goal Post. They also had a fine kicker bass that tipped the scales at 7.00 lbs to also give them the Big Bass honors and a total payday worth $1930.00. The team wanted to Thank Big D Outdoors and Optima Batteries for their support.

Chris McCall from Jasper & Pete Shivers from Kirbyville, Tx ran Chris’s Ranger/ Rude to mid lake grass beds to catch their limit of 5 bass pitching Santone jigs in 8-12 ft deep grass edges using their American Rodsmiths with Garcia reels and ended up with 19.02 lbs to finish in 2nd place and collect $800.00. Chris wanted to Thank his other sponsors, Santone Lures, Terry’s Marine, Gambler & Berkley baits.

The team of David Shaw from Huntington, Tx & Rick Davis from Silsbee, Tx ran David’s Skeeter/Yamaha to undisclosed lake areas and used their skills to catch their 5 bass today that tipped the scales at 15.88 lbs to finish in 3rd place and collect $425.00 for their day on the water.

The team of Tommy Howard & Gene Thornton fished undisclosed areas to garner 4th place and collect $205.00 for their day on the water.
